This time last week we were running our first ever Mixed Ability Squash Festival at Macclesfield Leisure Centre!
We had so much fun running the sessions which saw a total of 15 participants taking to the Court for their first experience of Squash / Squash 57!
Mixed Ability Squash is a fantastic initiative from England Squash that provides people of all abilities the opportunity to get on Court and play the game through fun games and activities!
There were lots of laughs and some red and sweaty faces by the end of the Session!
With funding from England Squash, we hosted a Session for the Rossendale Trust, who provide supported living care to adults with learning and physical disabilities, giving them the opportunity to live in purpose built apartments and houses across Macclesfield and Buxton. They aim to create an environment where everyone is encouraged to reach their full potential and participate in the wider community.
We also ran some sessions for the Macclesfield Lifestyle Group, who, based at Macclesfield Leisure Centre, offer a Day Service as part of the Cheshire East Livewell Service for Adults with an autistic spectrum condition, with SEN/learning disabilities or with physical disabilities.
We are looking forward to introducing more of these session onto our regular Programme at the INSPIRE Squash Academy this season!
